Israeli strikes in southern Gaza kill aid seekers, hit shelter for displaced

Among the dead were six aid seekers and five people killed when an Israeli drone struck tents sheltering displaced families in the al‑Mawasi area of southern Gaza. Several others, including children, were injured.

Survivors described panic as families were caught sleeping. The grandfather of two injured children said the strike came without warning, forcing them to carry the wounded to Nasser Hospital themselves before ambulances arrived.

The strike targeted an area west of Khan Younis, officially designated a “safe zone” but repeatedly hit by Israeli forces.
